Why Is APMP’s Board So Determined to Sweep the Baachu Scribble ATO Revocation Issue Under the Rug?

In the letter sent to Baachu Scribble on December 20th, 2022, the APMP Board of Directors stated their intention to “proceed as quietly as possible” provided that Baachu complies with the terms of the letter and remains quiet on the subject publicly. The statement made by the APMP Board of Directors that they wish to proceed quietly in regards to the revocation of Baachu Scribble’s ATO status raises several questions.

  1. Why does the APMP Board want to handle this matter quietly?
  2. What are they trying to hide?
  3. Why does the APMP Board not want to be transparent about their decision and the process leading up to it?

Is it because they fear backlash or criticism from the larger APMP community? Or

Is it because they are aware that their actions may not hold up to scrutiny and examination?

One could argue that the desire to proceed quietly suggests that the APMP Board is more concerned with preserving their own reputation and avoiding any potential negative consequences for themselves, rather than upholding the integrity and professionalism of the proposal profession as a whole.

It is important for the APMP Board to remember that they are not only accountable to themselves, but also to the larger APMP community. As self-elected leaders of the proposal profession, they have a responsibility to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and integrity. By attempting to proceed quietly in regards to the revocation of Baachu Scribble’s ATO status, the APMP Board is failing to meet this responsibility and is ultimately damaging the credibility and reputation of the organization as a whole.

By not being transparent and open about their decision, the APMP Board is denying members the opportunity to hold them accountable for their actions and to have a full understanding of the reasoning behind the revocation of Baachu Scribble’s ATO status.

Furthermore, the decision to proceed quietly also raises questions about the fairness and impartiality of the process leading up to the revocation. If the APMP Board is confident in the justness of their decision, then they should not have any hesitation in being transparent and open about the process.

The APMP Code of Ethics states that members must “represent the proposal profession with integrity in their relationships with employers, clients, colleagues, and the general public.” By attempting to sweep this matter under the rug and avoid making any announcements to the general public, the APMP Board is failing to live up to APMP code of ethics.

In his famous quote, Mahatma Gandhi said, “Honest disagreement is often a good sign of progress.” If the APMP Board truly believed in their decision to revoke Baachu Scribble’s ATO status, they should be willing to defend their actions and engage in open and honest dialogue.

We call on the APMP Members, Chapter Leaders, APMP Sponsors and independent ATOs to speak out and demand accountability from the APMP Board. As members of the APMP community, we have the right to know the truth about what happened with Baachu Scribble. We deserve to be treated with respect and dignity, not brushed aside and silenced. It’s time for the APMP Board to come clean and be transparent about their actions.

It is clear that the APMP Board of Director’s actions in both the rebranding initiative and the revocation of Baachu Scribble’s ATO status have caused a loss of confidence among APMP members. The Boad of Director’s lack of transparency, disregard for the wishes of the membership, and apparent double standard in protecting some ATOs while silencing others have all contributed to this loss of confidence. Many are questioning why the Board of Directors is determined to sweep the issue under the rug. It is time for the Board of Directors to be held accountable for their actions and for the integrity and credibility of APMP to be restored.
